I bought an icom v8000 recently on my Toyota Landcruiser powered by diesel engine. #Whilst I could transmit loud and clear 5/9 however, I received QRM hummings. #Please help to resolve.

I owe a Icom V-8000 and use it In a 1996 Freightliner Semi. I use a Diamond 285 antenna. I have had no problems with the radio at all. I do know if you don't have a good ground that affects the radio's proformance. On semi trucks there is more use of fiberglass and what I did for my wireing was I wire the power and ground direct to the batteries of the truck. Thats all I caqn suggest to you.

How is the radio's receive other than the mobile application problem you are experiencing? Does it scan faster than the IC 2100?
