Well i'm moving, New Hampshire this time.

I'm leaving the MN Vikings, friends, and my current radio setup and 1000 qsl cards I just bought behind.

I'll admit my radio setup isn't that great, I only have a vertical. The new setup should be good though, my dad promised a beam and a tower. I have a 2-element beam not put up but I could get one for the tower.

Anyways are there any hams in the Boston(I think it could be anywhere we don't know exactly where in New Hampshire yet) area that would like to help me get set up in March when I make the move.

My dad works for General Mills and his work is transferring him again. The nice thing is though that next transfer after this he will be a top executive and we shouldn't have to move again after that.

We are moving to the Methuen area, That's were he will be working but we could move anywhere around there.

Anyways I haven't done a zed search yet, but who all lives up there that could help me get set up and point me to the nearest radio club.

Funny thing is, we are moving and I just joined the Minnesota Wireless Association

I also just got the new call K0DXC. Do you guys think that I should keep the call when moving to 1 area or should I get the extra(which i'm going for and get a 1by2)

    Hi Calvin,

I wish you the best while you move. I am from NJ and I LOVE the MN Vikings too! no joke. Seems like you will have a great station up there in the NE. Their is a local contest club called the YCCC (Yankee Clipper Contest Club). They operate in all the big contests and have huge stations if you are interested. Your beam and vertical should do very well because you are closer to Europe and your signal will go right across the Atlantic.

I personally like a 2x1 call for the WPX contests and its short. Hope all goes well. 73's Paul/WQ2N

What part of New Hampshire are you moving to ? If your anywhere the Nashua area you might want to look into the Nashua Amateur Radio Club (NARC). They put on an awesome Field Day, good enough to bring me up there for the past 10 years to operate. I will be there again in 2008 racking up points.

Well if you can make it to Nashua for FD 2008 I will more than likely be operating 40 Phone. This year my son (KC2SIS) will be coming up with me to operate the overnight shift which has become my favorite time to operate.

Dave is interested in contesting so I am planning on doing a few contests before Field Day to get him ready. Last year I wound up operating 80 SSB & CW because no one signed up for CW and my friend grabbed 80 SSB for us to operate.

Yes if you can make it you will find me there and operating, my general operating times are as follows. All times are Eastern Local.

    SATURDAY:
    2pm - 4 or 5pm
    11:30pm till midnight

    SUNDAY:
    Midnight - 8am
    10am - 2pm

So even if you can't make it to the site listen on 40 SSB for N1FD......More than likely you will find me at the mic.

For those of you who will be operating FD for their first time all I can say is "Enjoy Yourself". FD is always a lot of fun.

I'm not to interested in phone CW is the thing for me. I have improved my speed to 35 wpm and climbing. When I move I'll see how close I am to Nashua and I'll come up and put out a CW effort
