i,m interested to know everyones opinion on .....
when the wind is blowing , do you point your beam at the wind ? or do you turn your beam to the side letting the wind run the length of your elements ? i,m interested in anyones own experience or opinion . jim MM0JVB

This was asked not too long ago. Usually my beam is pointed in whatever direction I used it last. I do have to admit, however, That last summer we had 70mph winds and I did turn into the wind.

I just retract the elements and leave it pointed wherever.

Watching the fiberglass poles wiggle in the wind is fun.

Honestly, the wind here is unpredictable so I just leave it.

Pointed at 45 degrees to/from the direction of the wind.

Somebody here is doing a bit of showing off ! I just leave it retracted and watching it wiggle is fun !

The wind changes so frequently in the UK you could face it into the NW wind at 6 pm Wednesday, at 9 am Thursday it could be blowing from the south !
