    thought there was a general pinout...some layout that most people follow - no matter - i decided it wasnt work riggin it.

    There are also several different types of 4 pin microphone jacks ranging from pretty small to over 1/2 inch in diameter. Also, some have male pins on them and some have female jacks.

    Then there are those that are like phone jacks and those come in different diameters.

    In addition, there are those jacks like are used on some telephones with 4 connections that are also used on some microphones.

    Got to give more details!
