question, I removed my 30ft mast, which i had one end of my dipole attached to, to make room for my 50ft tower and reattached my dipole to my tower.
now i have very little incoming signals? what the hell did i do?
is my new tower causing this or did i fudge something by moving it, my ''s'' meter is now sitting at 1 and 20 meters is always hopping! but not anymore!
HELP!!! I must have my radio fix!

More likely caused a short between the center conductor and shield ( assuming a coaxial cable )
How do you have your feedline attached to the dipole ?

Yes, of course. #You likely have a short OR break at your coax feedpoint with the dipole. #Strong connections and soldering are preferred for all outdoor installations.
One good part of being in Scouting is they do learn how to tie knots!
Improved cinch knot is good for dipole legs to eyelet on center insulator or balun.

I have tied one end of the dipole to the tower and have tossed the balun and other end into a tree which is supporting the balun, other end of dipole is attached to a nearby tree.

I had the same problem once. Chased my tail for hours trying to figure it out. My RX was down 8+ S inits, I had almost none of the usually noise in my RX and though my antenna tuned up properly (which is still a mystery to me) I couldn't get out.
One leg of the dipole was separated from the feed point.

You have the ladder line connected to a PL-259? or SO-239? Why..??? The connector is for coax...
Do not understand this at all...
