Just spent a few days with the family at the Disneyland Resort Hotel in Anaheim. We had a suite on the 14th floor (as high as they go) and not only do the windows open, the windows are all sliding glass patio doors that open, and half of them open onto balconies with tables and chairs!

So, you can sit "outside" your suite, operating from 150' above ground.

Not that many places have this -- the big hotels in Vegas sure don't. (Most of those hotels, the windows don't open at all.)

It was fun. With the little FT-817 at 2.5W I worked all over the Pacific on 20m using a 16' wire tossed over the balcony railing, the railing itself as a counterpoise, and a small MFJ tuner. Only operated maybe an hour, but the location is excellent and it's not often you find patio doors that open all the way up at 150'.

Although I actually prefer CW, on this occasion I was using all SSB...left the key paddle in the car, which was parked about half mile away in the visitor's lot, and too lazy to go get it!

    But it was fun, anyway.

A few hundred folks out there with AG4YO/P QSLs. I worked all over the US and 6 countries with an FT840 and an MFJ 1621 Antenna sitting on the bed in my hotel room wherever I traveled for work.

It is hooked to the phone to call room service for another half dozen beers, a couple hard boiled eggs, and some bean dip.

actually you on the 13 floor the 13 floor has been eliminated and re numberd to the 14th floor because people are superstitious It goes from 12-14. I was with my cousion and he pointed that out to me and I called the front desk and thats what they told me nobody wants to stay on the 13th floor
