Ok, I recently upgraded to Extra, and the update went through in the FCC ULS system back on 3/21 but still hasn't updated on QRZ's call sign DB?

    http://www.qrz.com/detail/KG4DCI
    and
    http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsS...?licKey=601321

The only reason I bring this up is that it seems a large number of hams use the QRZ db, or some program that uses QRZ.

Last night while chatting on 40m, I was nicely accused of improper operation by operating outside my 'tech' privileges, or forgetting to use '/ae' while waiting for the upgrade to process.

The long and short of it was the other ham was trying to 'help' and was using QRZ instead of the ULS...

So, what is the standard time to wait for an update to QRZ? Is there something I need to do to make this happen?

QRZ gets their update from the FCC. It is not done daily, probably weekly? In the mean while all you can do is operate properly. If questioned, inform the individual that according to the FCC database you are operating within your license class. If they mention QRZ then have them check the FCC ULS for more details. It can be aggrivating, but that is all that can be done at this point.

QRZ and a couple of other sites that offer call sign searches had the updatd two days after the FCC database had my upgrade listed.

But the FCC database is THE most important anyway.

Perhaps you should politely remind your accuser that you are in the FCC's ULS database and they are the one's who grant licenses, not QRZ.

Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'... but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'?
Where's that extra penny going to?

Well he was nice about it, which is why I didn't list his call or anything on here... He was trying to be helpful...

I'm just more interested in getting my entry on here updated than anything else.

Well, the QRZ.com data base now lists you as being an 'Extra', so maybe all the hams who think that data base is the ONLY one on planet earth can now be happy.

The QRZ.com database is usually updated automatically from the FCC ULS within about 24 hours. There isn't anyone on the QRZ.com staff that goes through every ULS update and manually updates the license information on this site. Everything is automatic via updates provided by the FCC.

It still hasn't updated mine. It's been over a month and it's still showing Tech. I sent an e-mail. I contacted a moderator and still no change.
