I have what I think is a maco v 58 or something like it. I have set it up just as the manual says. It seems to have a direct short? But I guess this is how it is designed? I thought I was pretty good at setting up antennas, guess this one has me stumped! When you plug in the coax all white noise goes away and swr is maxed out I changed th es0-239 and the feed wire to the loop and just kenw I had I wooped....same results, did iI forget an insulator or am I just not understanding the consept of this loop gamma match?
Maco (Majestic Manufacturing of Memphis, TN) started making linear amplifiers and CB accessories in 1969.
They ceased this operation in the 1970's (FCC's action and insistence).
In 1977, Maco bought from assets, trademarks and rights for the Wilson line of antennas.
Maco continues to manufacture a series of antennas, CB accessories and power supplies.
The Maco V58 is a 5/8 wave antenna similar to the Imax 2000 and Antron 99 products - BUT not finerglass encased. #
Antenna is field tunable from 26 to 33 Mhz in 1 of 9 settings. #It is rated for up to 1200 watts.

That bottom ring (like the Cushcraft Ringo antenna assembly) - is your matching section for low SWR.
