Well, at least for Massachusetts February vacation is next week and I have some plans! Between work and other activities I plan on making a 80M OCFD... Ill keep everyone posted! Anyone else got plans?

well, ill add to this post...

My project for febuary vacation is to finish my laser project. I've experimented with a laser pointer a several ways to moduate it. as well as optics systems. Now Im ready for the big rig. I've taken a scrap aluminum box about 8"x4"x4" and threaded a 1/4x20 thread tap into the base as to mount onto a tripod. Ive cut out the PCB base and marked off the moduals to build them into, EX: Power, Modualation (Its going to do voice, cw, and data), keying....

The next step is to draw the PCB and etch it. should fit nicely. After that Its the optics, which Ive already used screws and other stuff to make a crude azumith/elevation adjuster but Im going to rebuild it with metal and probably use Micrometers to get a very fine aiming device... then I gotta find a way to aim this thing with a scope or something.... I have red dot sight for my paintball marker but theres no magnification... the TX might have collimination lens... not sure though... and RX is a simple PVC pipe with a lens on the front and a most likely a photodiode at the focal point....

well, thats my big project for vacation...
