I had the occasion to look up a callsign on another site and came up with a "Not Found on QRZ" answer. I went to the QRZ look up page and when I inserted the callsign I got a "Not listed on QRZ" answer BUT there was a link to the FCC database which does show the License Holder in question.

What criteria does an Amateur have to meet to NOT have his or her call listed? #Is it some sort of a ban on said Amateur?

Not looking for specifics on any particular Amateur, just general information.

The only two I know of are K1MAN and W6NUT.

I guess it's for bad behavior.

Also I have seen people asked to be delisted for their own reasons.

    John,
My call, to the best of my knowlege has always been there, or actually here. #I looked up KB2FCU and that was the call in question. #I was curious why someone would not be listed by QRZ when the call was valid in the FCC database. #One of the previous replies listed two (one was and one wasn't) and the one that was not was the same format of KB2FCU. #

I guess there are reasons that someone would not want their call listed, but those reasons escape me.

I put in KB2FCU and got a listing for the guy's new call. Looking in the details section, I see his old call, KB2FCU. So, what is the problem?

Interesting, when I first entered KB2FCU I got the "Not listed" message but just now got what the last poster noted. Maybe I caught it between updates.

    There are various reasons.

The main reason is that some people disagree with the idea of the QRZ database, and request that their information be removed. They are usually people who have a bone to pick with either AA7BQ or the QRZ staff.
