So send a pic with the words "my Call sign" written on paper and send it to him.

It's your radio, YOU be the judge.

If you judge it's a scam, I believe you would be correct!

He's trying to get pictures (NOT photoshopped) that he can use on other sites to post YOUR radio for sale and get away with the money.

By the way, there's another report today of scammer using his callsign:

He wasn't asking you to engrave it, just write it on a piece of paper and lay it on the rig, then take a photo.

I received EXACTLY the same e-mail, from the same guy. (AF5CC) I stopped communicating at the point where he wanted me to take another picture of my DMU-2000 for sale with HIS callsign on it. Too many red flags!!!!

I can see this going both ways. He might be a legitimate seller who simply wants to identify YOU. Ask him for something other than a call sign that he would like photographed along with the item. That should prove it one way or the other.

Fred, you could be right but in view of all else the chances are EXTREMELY slim that this is legit... and, he's not a seller, he's a buyer.

He's trying to get pics he can use to scam others, this is a 99.99% certainty.

WR2E - I'm aware of what you're saying. I was only offering that if he would be satisfied with some other inscription that it would break the tie in this "proof of life" paradox. I agree, it's probably a scam but asking for some other inscription would be an interesting exercise.

Then, wait for him to send the money, preferably cash. :)
