Does anyone know if I can use my VX-7 CSV file with a new VX-8DR.

I could save an awful lot of programming time.

    Thanks!!

Yes, you should be able to do that!

    OK...

I have a CSV from a VX-5 also but that one is a different format then the VX-7 and does not work.

Why must these manufacturers make things so difficult.

    Thank you! :D

    Perhaps not

Just got the radio and the software does not want to read a .csv file or even a.vx7 file.

I tried changing the .vx7 to .vx8 in an attempt to "fool" the software but to no avail. The software manufacturers site, rtsystemsinc.com provide no answers that i can find.

Any further advice would be welcomed. I really don't want to manually program all of the information required for this to work.

    Thanks,
    Jon

    Got it!!

Good old Yaesu changes their format for each model of radio so that things like "name" are renamed "tag" and such. Plush they then change the order that they appear.

Solution... Do an import from the current software which allows you to rearrange things and pick the proper order and possibly changed name from the list of current names being use for your latest program,,, ie vx-7 to vx-8.
