    Hi everyone,

I am acquiring a Yaesu FT-757 GX and I have read that these radios can be modified for tx/rx on 60 meters. Does anyone know how this is done? I went on but they have become a pay site, and as a free member, you are only allowed to access one mod per day. I am really looking for perhaps a photo of the PC Board/chassis where the mod would be performed and some info on the level of difficulty. I would be interested in performing this mod because a ham friend of mine and I have constructed a 60 meter dipole and I am taking my general test this week..

If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thank you very much!

    Kind Regards and 73,

    simple mod for this rig-

    1:Disconnect FT757 from all connections.
2:Open Rig like explained in your "Operating Manual".
3:Locate on the "Display Unit" SW03 and change is position.
4:Close tranceiver back and reconnect power.

This give you 100w TX between 1.5 and 30 mhz.

If its the GXII model then it does'nt have a switch SO3 on the board. It has a 10 ohm resistor where the switch should be.

All you do is cut one end (same as opening the switch) and the mod works as above.

My GX II had the switch also.

It was so obvious it was hard to see. Black switch, just behind and to the right (looking at the face of the radio, rightside up) of the tuning dial, on the board that is the back of the faceplate.
