I'd like to know what sort of interface is available to connect my PC to my FT-450. In short, what would such a connection allow me to do? I work 80M through 17m phone.

    Your feedback is appreciated.

For control of the radio I use a serial cable and Ham Radio Deluxe
For digital modes such as PSK31, SSTV I use a signalink USB

Incidently if your pc doesn't have a serial port, like mine, a serial to USB adapter works also.

I have seen a few SignaLink USB interfaces listed on the swap listings here, Eham and QTH.com

You can go to Ebay and search for CAT interface under the Yaesu listings.

    Here is the USB cable

Here is the serial cable if you need that.

Here is a used SignaLink USB. You may need to order another cable. However the 6 pin data cable I used on my Icom 7000 works with my FT-950, no rewiring required. Of course you need to change the wiring inside the SignaLink to work with the FT-450 and that is simple.

    OK,
Thanks for your assistance. I'll have a look at the links and see if I can get this thing working.
