XV9WJR will be on the air again in Vietnam October 2018

XV9WJR will once again be on the air operating primarily from Vung Tau, with trips planned to Con Son Island (IOTA AS-130) and Phu Quoc Island (IOTA AS-128) during the month of October (Oct 3 - 27).

Operating bands are 20m, 15m, and 40m.
Primarily CW, but also some PSK. (I will take a mic with me this time, and may even plug it in).

Between the downpours and lightning bolts shooting across the sky I was able to get up and running from Vung Tau on October 3.

The storms are mostly off in the distant and the light show in the night sky is incredible to watch. But the rig gets shut down at

the first crackling sound coming through the headsets.​

Did manage a few QSOs, including one with TO6OK Dx'Pedition on Mayotte on 20 meters, but noise levels are high as usual and static in the air is not helping.

I flew over this trip.

I take the "Big Left Turn" out of the Strait of Juan De Fuca in 2 years time.
