I fixed all of my Win 10 problems easy.
I got rid of it and went back to Win7.
Had a problem with Windows Update a while back where sound card device for digital modes disappeared. No trouble with speakers or headphones. Latest update did not cause any issues that I can see.
I got a similar effect by dumping Win10 and going back to Linux.
Then again, I'm old enough now that I have no problem being happier with my computer than the general public is with theirs.
I am a Linux person also.
But Win 7 still rocks for apps that will not run on Linux.
Linux is good to hack Windows machines.
"...for everything else, there's VirtualBox...."
Will that work with 10 ?
I have never tried it. Win10 is a hopeless effort for me because I worked in IT to long.
I know a good OS when I see it. Win 10 just don't float my boat.
10 is bloated and needs 32 gig ram and high speed unlimited internet for updates.
I have run Win10 inside a VirtualBox VM. I have not tried to run VirtualBox as a host on Windows 10, with guests of other OS's.
That said, Win10 is a supported host OS: https://www.virtualbox.org/
Why not just go back to Win98 and use a computer that would never become obsolete?
“Windows 8 my homework!”
I do have one, 98SE. I just do use it every day. It has old school I/O ports.
The floppy is priceless.
