WHY do we need RSID to determine the mode?

    It's easy enough to simply configure your various CQ macros to transmit the RSID signal at the beginning of each CQ.

    You only need it when calling CQ, and it's not necessary or desirable on PSK 31 or RTTY, as they are easily identifiable and it becomes a nuisance, so don't use it for those modes.

    Macro example:

    <rsid> CQ CQ CQ DE k5rcd
    CQ CQ CQ DE k5rcd
    CQ CQ CQ DE k5rcd pse k <stop>
