What do you want in an Amateur Organization?

    and that brings up a great point, in other "clubs" you get discounts on gear pertaining to that specialty.

    It would almost be worth it to join the ARRL if companies had a ARRL discount for ARRL members, like a nice VOM for cheaper than the average ham can get.

    While the FCC does not specifically require hams to buy any specific test equipment, they hold you responsible for the quality of your signal. If they bring a case against you, not being able to afford the test equipment is not an acceptable defense.
