    Looking for some guidance. I am a new Ham operator (technician level) and want to make sure the first radio I purchase will work well with my Mac.
    Any advice or direction for which handheld units to purchase and which to stay away from would be greatly appreciated!
    Looking at everything from the Kenwood TH-D74A to the Yaesu FT60R

    There are a lot of variables here, and it really depends upon what you mean by "work well with my Mac."

    I presume you want to be able to program memories and the such, so for that I'd take a look at Chirp and see which radios it supports.
