The MSA decoder works great. Playing with gain seems to do nothing beneficial.

    Roy,

What was the final solution for the script issues that started this thread.

Seems like I'm repeating history here as I got to run the "pipe into sox" command line
and am hitting the same errors as you did.

The problem was that I was using RTL-SDR drivers that were different than the ones that sox was expection. What I ended up doing was wiping the SD card and starting the install from scratch, EXACTLY step by step as detail on that how-to website. Then it worked.

I have no clue what the actually offending code/driver/library is, however. Only that it worked after starting over and following the instructions word for word.

Dang, that’s how I got to where I am.

Guess I will have to retrace my steps and see if I left anything out :(

All the scripting looks good but right now I’ve got 1 decoded snow png file and then nothing else. So I thought things were at least “working” ... but since no other files generated, I guess not

if you enter the command line manually (not in script), what is the response?

ok I'm guessing I'm near the root of the issue:

The instructions on that page for freeing up the rtl driver didn't work for me, I had to release the device by hand to run rtl_test successfully.

Did you create the modprobe file?

I believe you need to "sudo reboot" after creating this file

Yes created that and wouldnt any regular reboot be sufficient to pick this up?

Have rebooted multiple times since (re) installing vnc to get that working
