I was surfing YouTube because I like to listen to, and watch music videos, and this Ham Nation Video popped up.
I never even knew about Ham Nation, and started watching the past videos. I think it is a very cool show, and that Bob Heil and Gordon West and gang do an excellent job!
Then, I see Steve, WB2WIK on there, and I HAD to watch every minute of that Video!
I have never met Steve in person, but he is always here on QRZ and EHam, trying his best to help people with Ham Radio related questions.
I am 58 years old, and Bob Heil said he has been a Ham since 1956 ( I was 2 years old when he was first licensed).
Bob looks GREAT, and does a wonderful job, as does Gordon West!

It was really cool to hear Steve, WB2WIK talk about being a SWL before he was a Ham, and finding a local Ham he listened to, then tracking him down. That is MY story too! I used to listen back in Detroit to W8OLF (old lazy fox) when I was a kid, and I tracked him down as well. I still remember Jerry, W8OLF, and his Drake C Line Station and Mosley 3 band beam with 40 meter kit.
If it were not for W8OLF, I would not be a Ham today.

He took the time to help a kid, who was interested in Ham Radio.

That was a good one, and it was good to see Steve's hansom face in the video.

Ya Think ? I swear, before a few days ago, I never knew about the Ham Nation Videos!
HOW they escaped me is a good questiion, but they did.
No worries though, I have been watching them, playing catch up, with the rest of the world.

There is TONS of awesome stuff on them. My other hobby is high end audio, and there was a story about a balls to the walls audio amplifier, all Tubes, of course, I wish I could afford. Tubes just sound better, IMHO.

I agree! Steve did an excellent job, and he is funny too! He had a Banana he said "Is his new Heil Mic" and it was PTT (Peel To Talk)
    I laughed my ass off.
I have never met Steve WB2WIK, but it was great to put a face to a person who has bent over backwards to help me, and any other Ham who has antenna questions online.

That Ham Nation is cool as hell! I just watched Gordon West, and his mobile HF Antenna segment. That was great!

Bob Heil is in the midwest, would sure like to see him drive over to Mosley, and maybe show an antenna under development. I saw where they visited M2 Antennas, and I was all geeked up. I was hoping to see an antenna range, and an interview with Mike Staal, their designer. Instead, they showcased their VHF amplifiers, and their computer guided fabrication tools. I came away from that visit to M2 Antennas wondering IF they even have an antenna range ?
If I owned an antenna company, and I had a chance to show off what I do, I would sure want to make sure Hams saw Antennas I made being tested and developed on my antenna range.

Maybe M2 Antennas has chosen to concentrate more on their amplifiers, I don't know.

M2 antennas are computer modeled, I don't think they have a "range." Then, neither does SteppIR, Hy-Gain, Cushcraft, Tennadyne, Cubex, et al. I don't know if Mosley does.

A long time ago when Telrex was in business, they didn't have their own range but used the one at Ft. Monmouth (Army). That was a cool deal, but then they were building antennas a long time before computer modeling was available.

Mike Staal's (K6MYC) home station could be sort of a range: Mike has big towers and property.
