Glenn Haines W5VEI…. WWII fighter pilot and my Hero, said good by to his wife, Lena Holman Haines, Thursday, June 12, 2003 for the final time.. I’ve know them for the better part of 25 years and I never heard Glenn refer to Lena as “my wife”.. She was always “My Bride”.. Their love for each other was born while they were still in Jr. High School and forged by the violence and horror of WWII.. They were married for 59 years and raised four children.. Their son, Glenn  Jr. gave the ultimate sacrifice in the jungles of Viet Nam..  Lena Haines will be missed by all those who knew her.. But she will be missed most of all by my friend Glenn…
