Today's project -- Tektronix 497P repair

    Tek 497P analyzer. Lost the 10 and 100 Hz RBW filter section. Problem was traced to a bad .01uF SMD cap in the LO oscillator for the up/down converters (that RBW filter section uses a different IF.)

    I love repairing this older test equipment. This will augment the older HP 141T analyzers in the shop. Only problem so far is that Tektronix SA are not very intuitive to use! Easier to work on than figuring the out front panel controls.

    Agreed, I've never gotten along well with Tektronix spectrum analyzers though I'll take their scopes any day for ergonomics and intuitive use.
