I am part of the ARRL-sponsored 600 meter experiment.
We are licensed (FCC Part-5) and sponsored by the ARRL to prove hams can operate without causing interference. It appears we have met that goal.
Next February the WARC-2012 will discuss the new ham band possibility.
Now in August the northern hemisphere is covered with thunderstorms day and night, but the southern hemisphere is not.
    WD2XSH/7 is beaconing 24/7 QRSS120
(120 second dots) on 495.034KC and was captured by Dimitris VK1SV.
I (WD2XSH/6) am beaconing from greyline to about 05:00UTC QRSS3 (3 second dots) on 495.028KC. There is much more information on www.500kc.com. Reception reports on these and other digital stations will help us get a new 600 meter band. If you are set up for digital siganls you can let the computer stay up all night and capture for you. ARGO is a free and simple program.
Thank you for reading this. more information below.
