In regards to 80/160m, per a facebook post from Ken, LA7GIA, there is a "high level event" in country going on right now.

That restricts them, as they have been advised for safety, to their hotel. That may change in the next couple of days, and they can work on better receive antennas, while escorted by armed safety guards.

They also have high (s-9+) noise from about 15;00-21:00z, and (my words) propagation stinks.

They "hope that this can be resolved the coming days such that we can start operating on 80m and possibly 160m".

Given the conditions they are having to operate under, I think they are doing a great job.

I thought I had them on 40m tonight, but because of "continuous callers" he was unable, it seems, to confirm. I waited thru 15 min of good cndx waiting for the most recent update time on OQRS to include "my"(imaginary) QSO, and by then the propagation had moved west of me and there was no point to call again tonight. I was not feeling kindly towards my fellow amateurs!

I listened to them on 40 for a few minute, it was a zoo.

No reports (so far) of any contacts on 80/160.

Seems like they show up for a few contacts to NA then vanish and not to be heard again for hours. From my location I have heard them once on 40 working Europe. Nothing on 80, very little on 20, no propagation on 15. Really a disappointment with this operation.

Got them on 40 meters just now - he had the call busted but after about six tries - now in the log - Clublog is virtually an instant QSL - impressive!

Just worked them on 20, horrid conditions, signal weak, workable. Saw a spot for 80 meters last night, could hear the pile up, mostly Northeast and Northern stations, nothing this far South, not even a faint whisper.

They just moved to 30M and I got them before the zoo started. Whew.
