Rookie Round-Up with a Twist - Miami 8/18/2019

The Dade Radio Club of Miami is having the "Rookie Round-Up" event with a twist on August 18, 2019 from 1:00 - 5:00. This event will be held at the Miami Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters in Doral.

The purpose of this event is to teach and encourage newly-licensed operators (“Rookies”) to experience operating on HF, UHF, and VHF bands. We will have an HF rig, several hand helds and an on-site repeater. Experienced operators will assist through-out the event. While the objective is for the Rookies is to learn how to exchange information with other stations, the Dade Radio Club would also like to introduce the Rookies to several local organizations who utilize Amateur Radio (CERT, the National Hurricane Center, Urban Survivalist Craft, etc).
