    Robin Hood Award
    New, Free, Fun . . . .

The Robin Hood Award starts officially on Sunday 27 September with an 'activation' of Robin Hood Hill, east of Nottingham, England.

The Phoenix Radio Group (MX0PHX) will be operating a portable station on 40m ssb and 2m fm, and possibly on other bands if conditions are satisfactory, from 09:00 to 14:00 UTC, possibly later.

The Robin Hood Award is a free, easy to do, self-service fun award, open to 'Activators' who operate from any location (worldwide) associated with the legendary Robin Hood and His Merrie Band, and also for 'Chasers' who make contact with them. Planned activations can be registered on the award website or posted on Twitter (see below).

The Phoenix Radio Group will do first 'official' activation from one of Robin Hood's favourite haunts, but anyone in Robin Hood Country - and beyond - can participate. There are scores of locations in all parts of England that are associated with Robin Hood and there are many more around the world too - all are included in the award.

If all goes well, with a steady stream of activations on HF and VHF, Spring 2016 will see the introduction of a Bronze, Silver and Gold 'Achievement Award' for both activators and chasers.
