    Robert W. Lovell, 78, of Galena passed away May 29, 2018 in Christiana Hospital.
    Bob was born July 14, 1939 in Roxboro, Pa., son of the late Ernest and Eleanor B. Lovell. He was raised in Woodstown, N.J., where he later owned and operated an excavating and golf course renovation company.
    In 1991, he retired and, in 1992, he and his wife moved to Galena.
    He was an active member of the Alloway Township Fire Company in New Jersey for many years, and he was a proud life member of the Galena Volunteer Fire Company, where he received numerous awards for top responder for driving the ambulance, and was active with all hall functions.

    Bob was a two-time Commodore of the Salem Yacht Club in New Jersey, a ham radio enthusiast serving as president for 10 years with Kent Amateur Radio Club, and more recently with the Queen Anne's Amateur Radio Club. He also served on the Galena Cemetery Board and worked for the Galena Funeral Home.
    Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Lovell.

    Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathryn "Kay" Chaput Lovell; daughters Deborah Zarin (Ronald) of Alloway, N.J. and Lisa Lovell of Pennsville, N.J.; sons Raymond M. Titus (Kathryn G.) of Franklinville, N.J. and Kevin Titus (Lisa) of Clayton, Del.; and four grandchildren Dana (25), Alex (21), Rachel (19) and Kevin (10).

    A viewing will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in St. Dennis Church, 153 N. Main St., Galena, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Galena Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Galena Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 189 or St. Dennis Church, P.O. Box 249, Galena, MD 21635.
