Glenn Johnson, W0GJ, began his ham radio journey as a teenager and from his love for chasing DX, has since been to many DX entities around the world including Heard Island, an attempt last year to land on Bouvet Island, and an upcoming DXpedition later this year to Pitcairn Island. Glenn’s interest and determination to provide these rare DX entities along with this DXpedition group, is worth the weeks at sea, sometimes in terrible conditions. Glenn was able to break from his preparations for Pitcairn to spend this QSO Today. IBOTA? LOVE IT! I THINK it was Glenn with whom I made contact with when they were in sight of and anchored off of Bouvet. I can't begin to imagine what an overwhelming disappointment the Bouvet Island DXpedition was nor, the experience of the looooong single engine trip back to South Africa! Incredible job team and looking forward to a contact from Pitcairn! 73! Greg
Thank you Glenn for the wonderful interview with Eric. I wanted to tell you that was a very nice tribute you gave Paul, WOAIH at Dayton. I was there and it was touching to say the least. I never met Paul but talked to him on phone a number of times. He was the one who allowed me to be a potrtable W1AW/9 back in 2014. Pure gentleman and very friendly. He invited me to farm but was to busy at the time. I now wish I would of took him up on it. Take care Glenn and 73, Denny WB9MSM
I only met Paul once. But from that first handshake, I knew he was a special human being and deserving of great respect. RIP, Paul. I know you are missed by many.
