The Hardrock 50 is a SOLID amplifier. I am running one with a Multus Proficio and a QRP Labs QCX.

With the Proficio, I have software band selection and use the external key approach.

With the QCX, I use COR, and it works great as well.

The Hardrock also can be outfitted with an internal tuner that is good for a 10:1 tuning range.

the 3dB difference between it and 100W is not as big of deal as the 10dB are in jumping up from QRP.

I look at a Hardrock as a one time purchase for bringing QRP radios up to "fighting level" or be able to drive a linear to true QRO. The best part is it can be integrated painlessly with numerous radios. To me, it is part of assembling a station in more of a building block mentality.

Let's be wary of the S unit guys. All I know is that when I double the power I get more results. I really don't care about how many S units difference exist.
