New ham and still learning the ropes, so please excuse if this is a noob question:

I recently purchased a Yaesu FT-70D and I am working on programming a set of repeater frequencies for an organization I work with. As part of this, I saw from my Kenwood radio a setting called DQT encode, but there is nothing like that in the Yaesu. In the Yaesu I see a setting for DCS but the options under that are not similar. Is there a conversion or something to allow this programming, or is that a proprietary thing to Kenwood that the FT-70D is not capable of communicating with? Thanks for any insight!

I think I just answered my own question, but confirmation would still be good. On the Kenwood the code looks like "D036N" and in the Yaesu software, it looks like "036" so an educated guess says to use the 036 setting and the D and N don't matter in this view on this radio. Is this correct?
