PARACHUTE MOBILE JUMPS SAT JUNE 16 2018 OVER BYRON CA
See: www.parachutemobile.com for schedule and freq updates on Sat. Will be working split this time to have a better chance to work pileups. 20M USB QRP, FT 817

    My TX freq 14.250 KHz
My RX freq 10 up, 14.350 KHz.

Please be patient. As experienced solo jumpers we pay only $24 for a Cessna 208 turboprop ride to 13,500 ft. Tandem jumpers pay over $200, so guess who gets boarding priority? We are ballast, filler, cheap cargo, standby passengers. There is simply no way to give precise jump scheduling. I know it's frustrating, but please bear with us.

We will do our best to give updates on our website www.parachutemobile.com and on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/parachutemobile/ on Saturday.

Really hope to work a few QRP QSOs. We will have very unique QSL cards. Don't sweat it if I give a partial call sign (like just your suffix) in reply to your call. It's very noisy under canopy and listening is difficult. I am doing a lot of things in parallel like scanning for aircraft traffic and getting wind updates from the ground crew. I will be carrying an audio recorder connected to the FT 817 audio output. If I can hear you on on the recording, you will get a card. This isn't a contest with strict rules, just a fun event.

I will exit and 13,500 ft, freefall for about 5-7 seconds to get stable, then deploy my main canopy. I will conduct about 15 seconds of post-deployment safety and canopy flight control checks, then I can start working stations. My descent rate under canopy is about 1000 fpm. At about 2500 ft I have to stow the radio gear and concentrate on setting up my landing approach.

Please clarify: 10 up would be 14.260 but 14.350 is 100 up

Good luck - stay safe - I'll be listening for you but want to make sure I have the split set correctly :)
