Welcome to Spring, because Spring has sprung. And I’m not surprised, as we’ve had some glorious weather over the last couple of weeks.

It’s also Father’s day, so happy Father’s Day to all the dads.

Today we also celebrate a special anniversary - Helpline is 35 years old today. Happy Anniversary Roy.

In this Club Focus edition we give over as much space as is needed so that clubs can promote themselves and what they do.

Unfortunately some clubs don’t get around to doing it, so if you find your club is conspicuous by its absence, talk to your club committee and see what can be sorted for next time. Perhaps you could take on the task of promoting your club.

We have club items from RASA about bandplan changes, Ham College, WAARN, RAOTC, and WA VHF Group, NCRG with a Hamfest Wrap, along with the regular Club Focus episode from yours truly, Roy’s Helpline, we take a look over the back fence, and Neil advises that the Ham College AGM is coming up soon.

We’re really chuffed with Mark VK6USB winning the Jim Rumble Award for his dedication to putting the news broadcasts to air, twice a day, for many years. Mark is a member of WA Amateur Radio News, and I was pleased to see that two other clubs had also nominated Mark for the award. I think Mark deserves a ten percent pay rise. What do you reckon?
