Portable specialist SOTABEAMS has launched a new carbon-fibre portable telescopic mast. The Carbon-6 has an extended length of 6 metres (19.6 ft) but weights just 300 grams (10.6 ounces). Its packed length is only 43 cm (17 inches) making it a mast that can be taken pretty much anywhere. The Carbon-6 has been designed for light-duty operations and is best suited for supporting the centre of end-fed wire antenna in inverted vee fashion. It is likely that this will be a popular choice for the portable operator who undertakes more "extreme" forms of travel or just wants to travel light!
