    William J. Gutschmidt, N8ICT SK

    William “Bill” Gutschmidt, 52, of Millersburg, died July 11, 2011, at his home, following an extended illness.

    Bill was born Nov. 11, 1958, in Jacksonville, Fla., to L. “Gus” and the late Mary Anne Gutschmidt. He was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and had worked for Staley Technologies. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Millersburg Lion’s Club, and numerous cycling clubs, in which he competed in various races. He built toy train sets, built and flew model airplanes, and was a spinning instructor.
    Surviving are a sister, Lisa Fogal of Wooster; his fiance, G. Sue Miller of Millersburg; an uncle, Ron (Pat) Smith of Omaha, Neb.; and special friends, Thomas E. and Pearl Foreman of Millersburg and their daughters, Ruth of Cleveland and Rose of North Carolina. He is also survived by his dog, Yoohoo.
    He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dick Fogal.
    Memorial services will be held July 16, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, Millersburg, with Father Ronald J. Aubry officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
    Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
    Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Millersburg Lion’s Club.
