Weekly MARCO Medical Grand Rounds Net on the Air The Medical Amateur Radio Council organization (MARCO) conducts weekly Grand Rounds on the air on Sundays at 1500 UTC (summer months) and 1600 UTC (winter months) on 14.342 MHz. Physicians from numerous specialities, a naval flight surgeon, Fermilab biomedical physicist, infectious disease specialist, trauma surgeons, dentists, etc. engage in stimulating, informative and timely medical topics that have a worldwide listenership while contributing to the dissemination of medicine and public health awareness. Founded in 1966, MARCO's mission is to promote goodwill and fellowship among amateur radio operators worldwide who are professionals in the healing arts or who have an interest in the medical, dental and allied fields which constitute the healing arts. MARCO is open to all licensed amateur radio operators who are health care professionals or affiliated with the medical industry. MARCO participants are eligible for one hour of Category 2 CME credit per Grand Round presentations. On-the-air network operation is considered an integral part of MARCO activity, and is conducted for the purpose of discussing and exchanging medical and technical information, and, wherever possible, to be of public service by assisting medical emergencies and other priority traffic.
