Unattended beacon operation is NOT permitted in the US on the 30m band

I was listening to the audio and did not hear or see on the waterfall any thing that sounded like or looked like the CW beacon mentioned by the first poster. The signal I was looking at did not appear as wide as the poster stated.

Joe:Disregard all of the many smartass comments! This seems to be common these days,I have noted. You explained the project well with enough information to explain what the project involved. There are some of us who like to obtain as much information about any situation/project that we can get.I can sort out any info that is of no importance to me! I've always believed that if one has nothing constructive to say regarding a topic, perhaps they should say nothing at all !! Keep up your very interesting work-Good Luck,73. i hear it every few minutes, kind of strange that it has an FLDIGI style pre-amble RSID for a variety of modes, each time sending similar position info. most recent was

Is the signal close to the OP's original freq., spacing, etc?

it puts it in downtown sheboygan, wisconsin. i'm not sure if it is the mode you are looking for, but is right on 10.145 USB.

this is an earlier one, like i said - different RSID preamble. it is a bit higher than 10.145 in frequency. i will watch the waterfall a little closer next time around. fldigi is still able to capture it.

for all i know, somebody is spoofing it. i'm just cutting and pasting what i hear and decode.

You guys realize the call sign on the ping goes to an address near the coordinates, right?

like i said, i'm just making reports of what i hear near the frequency indicated. i did see the relationship between the coordinates and the 9 call. i have adjusted FLDIGI to not change mode and frequency automatically, and have set it only for the mode and frequency indicated. i did hear a glimmer of very weak rtty, i'm waiting for the next go-around to see if i can get a decode.

    :(

I am no help with RTTY, especially Fox Hunting. Sorry.

Best of luck in your Balloon "Fox Hunt".

Maybe need a person with a Close to the ground dipole,
    or a Beverage style antenna??
