Lexington KY Hamfest - August 12th, 2012

This is my 4th or 5th consecutive year at the Lexington hamfest, and I think this was the best one yet. For the first time since I have been regularly attending ALL of the inside tables were full - in fact one of the vendors had to add a table. At the peak, the outside had about maybe 12-16 (maybe more) people tailgating. Sales were brisk, I bought a bunch of new (well, new to me) equipment and sold a lot of stuff I no longer needed. The beautiful weather (clear and in the upper 70's) likely didn't hurt! This is not a huge hamfest, but it is well run and organized, the people are VERY friendly, and the food (provided by the local Legion) is GREAT! The hamfest is Sunday only, and people generally begin to clear out in the early afternoon. If your in the central Kentucky area, or just want to try out a good hamfest, I strongly encourage you to come next year.
