There is about $170 difference between the two tuners. Is the Elecraft that much better? I expect resale value would be better with the Elecraft.

    Any info will be appreciated.

I've used the LDG tuner and own the KAT500. Hands down the Elecraft tuner is a much better tuner. I would not run the Elecraft tuner into a very high SWR at 1000 watts out, but if
you are using an amp that puts out <800 watts.....go with the Elecraft.

The LDG is a noisy clunker and takes forever to make a match.

If you need a tuner to cover 6 meters, either of the two above tuners will work on 6 meters. If you don't need a tuner for 6 meters, go with the MFJ 998 tuner. Hands down, it's the
better choice. It handles more power so less chance of damaging the tuner running high power into extreme mismatches. It's a faster tuner than the LDG.

    Hey Barry,
Thanks for the info. I will most likely go for the Elecraft. There is a used one available from an honest ham later this month.
