I have a used but in great condition Kenwood TM-742-A Tri-bander, 140/440/220 bands with the TSU-7 CTCSS module, mic, Comet CFX-324 Tri-plexor and 12vdc power cable. I have modded the LCD back-light to use white LEDs. Looks great and is dimmable. The radio hasn't been used that much and I'm not active at this time. I'm looking for $650.00 plus buyer pays the shipping. I can supply pictures if requested.

    LED MOD

    Hi Geoff,
The LEDs were a same exact size fit in the Control Head display PCB . They were the White LEDs that came as 18 bulbs on a string and were sold by Target as "L.E.D. Micro Light Set" for $4.99, powered by 4 AA batteries for Christmas decoration. They are 3.2 volts each. I don't remember if I had to wire-in a series resister or not, but the power to the Grain of Wheat bulbs was 12 volts and they are wired in series on the PCB. I don't have the schematic with me now, but if I find it, I'll post the info.
