    Hi all,

Now we have the new release JT65-HF 1.0.7

This software works JT65A mode for terrestrial use

and it's the easier way for a QRPer to get a DX!

    Changes for 1.0.7

Fixed improper formatting of saved ADIF file for logging.

Updated PSK Reporter DLL to latest version.

Added support for controlling PTT via HRD.

Moved menu items from buttons at bottom of window to a menu bar at top.

Added some new code and cross checks to help kill phantom decodes, but, I fear I have not yet solved that issue.

Added copy of PDF manual and placed a link to it in the installed menu items.

Probably many other changes that I'm not thinking of at the moment.

You can download JT65-HF1070.exe and the NEW setup & use guide on:

    Alex IZ4CZL,
Thank you...JT65-HF a great program and JT65a a great mode. One of the best weak signal modes and the JT65-HF software makes it easy...thanks.

My question is there very many people on this mode? I might have to try it out.

    Hi Steve,
during last year traffic has increased and my will
is to promote JT65-HF for this reason:
you know... more traffic means more DX and more fun for everybody!
Anyway you can see my log online on

    Hi Bill,
You have to TNX W6CQZ (Joe Large) because he is the software author.
I only promote JT65-HF to increase the JT65A traffic on HF.
I know someone has all 50 WAS wkd, I have 59 DXCC wkd and 51 electronic QSL cfd.

Alex, you should probably thank Joe Taylor K1JT. He originally wrote the JT65 software as part of his WSJT suite of weak signal programs years before Joe Large decided to "enhance" the mode by writing the "JT65-HF" program.

Just a thought... credit where credit is due.

I've done various digital modes on HF, as well as the WSJT meteor scatter stuff on VHF+. I just downloaded JT65-HF for the first time, installed it, read the instructions (!) (which were very well-written, by the way), and easily found multiple signals and easily made some contacts, including HI on 80m. Neat mode, good software, and fun!

WOW - 2 days into my JT65-HF experience and I'm already addicted to the mode. Thanks!

I got started on JT65 5 days ago when I downloaded this software.

My friend who had downloaded it and had it working talked me through the setup on 2 M simplex.

Shortly after he did that I had my first contact on 40 M.

Now I am playing with 3 watts to see how it goes.

One question I have is how the signal reports work.

Can someone explain that to a newcomer to the mode?

    Thanks
    Rick

HI Name here is Bill KE5ZGI. Wanted to see if the following might help with your exchanges. If You have any questions feel free to ask. I have been doing JT-65A for over a year now with over 500 QSOs logged with lots of DX.
Below is an Example of a proper HF Exchange:

CQ KE5ZGI DM72 ( Means KE5ZGI is calling CQ from Grid Sq DM72)
you would then identify if he is Tx on Even or odd and adjust Tx first accordingly.
KE5ZGI WH6N XXXX ( Would be your response XX would be your grid) I would then respond
WH6N KE5ZGI -5 ( Your signal report) 0 being Super strong and -25 weak. The computer will select his sig report based on the decode.
my report from you would follow R-XX R meaning Rodger your last Sig to me here is yours
KE5ZGI WH6N R-14 ( I would see this to know that my signal was -14 into the noise figure and seeing the R would let me know you acknowledged my report to you.
WH6N KE5ZGI RRR ( My response acknowledging QSO as good)
WH6N KE5ZGI 73 (and you would return the 73) you can change the standard 73 for example " TU BILL 73" Note only 13 characters can be sent this includes spaces.
If at any time the other station repeats their last response this means they did not copy your last.

    Hi Bill

Thanks for the info. I have the sending/receiving down. I just needed to know which number was a stronger signal.

So -05, would that be weaker or stronger -14?
