    Jonathan Doll, VE3CBX SK

    Jonathan Cyril Doll
    Saturday, June 5th, 1954 - Wednesday, May 29th, 2019
It is with great sadness that we the family of Jonathan Cyril Doll announce his passing on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in his 65th year. Jonathan passed away at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario with his wife by his side. Jonathan will be lovingly remembered by his partner and wife of 27 years, Ingrid Forde Doll; his children Rachel Grawey (Stephen) of London, Ontario and Shannon Doll of Cambridge, Ontario; his brothers David Doll and Gregory Doll (Jackie), sister Chyril Doll (Brent McRae), and his brother-in-law Roger Forde (Julie) of Port Moody, BC. Jonathan was predeceased by his father Terrance Doll in July 2011, his mother Barbara Doll in February 2017, his brother Les Doll in June 1990 and his sister-in-law Michelle Forde in 2014. Jon will also be fondly remembered by his immediate family, his nieces and nephews, his in-laws Michael and Griselda Forde, and his numerous extended family and friends. Born on June 5th, 1954 in India, Jonathan accomplished much in his life. His passion for radio communications led him to Research In Motion (Blackberry), where he spent 20 years testing and helping to bring the Blackberry to the world. After leaving Blackberry in 2015, he joined Conestoga College in the position of professor and instructor so he could “pass on the torch” to the next generation. Jonathan had a passion for the Lord, radio communications, music, travel (especially cruises), his family, his friends, and his students. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Grand River Oncology Floor, and CCAC Staff for the care and kindness provided during his brief illness. Family will be receiving friends on June 5, 2019 which would have been Jon’s 65th birthday. Visitation will be held at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Jon’s life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Calvary Assembly, 127 Hespeler Rd., Cambridge at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery. Donations made to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Calvary Assembly Encore Ministry for Seniors in memory of Jon would be appreciated by the family.
