So I'm monitoring 7.185 and I hear a very difficult station-to-station, domestic contact... I hear both stations using their own "Personal Phonic Code", me thinks after monitoring this mess, PPC can be down right counter-productive. "Japan, Texas Five Willow Nelson"... I listened to these domestic stations, struggling to clarify the're call signs for a good minute or so. They finally got it right. Propagation was fine, as I could hear both stations, why the 'PPC'? Is their something wrong with using the standard NATO format (or whatever the Hell is's called) so we can all start off on the same page of our QSO? Is it too much to ask? I have had my call sign for about 5 years and I will ALWAYS be known as: Kilo-Mike-Six-Charlie-November-Delta Or on FM as "KM6CND" and nothing else.
