Steel mortar boxes are NOT EMP proof. Where did you get that idea?

Ammo boxes are NOT EMP proof. Aluminum foil will NOT help.

You have to insulate the contents of the box from the box. Truck bedliner spray works great. Any pin holes in the can will render it useless.

The chargers should be inside the oven; they need to be protected too.

i told my aunt about using dead washing machines, driers and microwave ovens and asked whether we might get 4-5 of each and put them them in the house, garage, and back yard.
'THIS PLACE ALREADY LOOKS LIKE THE TOWN DUMP! NONONONONONONONO!!!!'
'well, it's not like we don't have the room...at least in the backyard...'
    'WAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!'

    hmpf, picky, picky...

The foam comes pre marked/cut so you can easily measure your item(s) and pull out the pieces you don't need. I keep the portions I pull out incase I decide to redesign the case for a different radio.

I hadn't thought about Harbor Frieght either. I got lucky and received a catalog that had this case on sale for $29.00. I couldn't pass it up at that price.

I picked up a couple of the 42W panels. What is the normal wattage you are able to achieve on average. My one panel is producing in winter about 25-30W which is not too bad, however to other is only putting out 5-10W in exactly the same test conditions, same time of day, same angle towards the sun. I might need to return the weak one before the return window expires...

Did you light/sun soak and how much of a increase did you notice pre/post sun soak? Thanks!
