I suggest you read the manual - aim for 50% ALC reading on the IC-7300

My comment was not directly related to the IC7300, but I also suggest that you read up on issues with ALC and JT modes. Not into pissing contests.

Yes, I've seen some wide wide signals, especially on BPSK. I was running JT65 yesterday with 5 watts and making a contact with almost every call I put out.

Working toward WAS on 160 meters for 17 years and only needed Alaska and Hawaii, a stretch from NJ.

Enter JT65, just worked Hawaii, now just need Alaska.

Okay, I have the infamous "keeps switching to USB from USB-D mode after transmitter. Using C-IV cable for HRD and USB cable for data/audio. Everything works fine with JT-65HF and HRD. But, when using WSJT-X and Data/Pkt in WSJT-X setup, the radio jumps back to USB forcing me to have to click "DATA" in order to transmit a signal. It's doable on JT-65 but impossible on FT-8. Has any one figured out this problem? CI-V transceive is off. Mode set to data/packet in WSJT-X.
