I bought a Neewer NW800 mic from Amazon to see how it would work with my IC7300. It was cheap enough that I figured if it didn't sound good, I'd use it for something else.
I'm trying to figure out how to wire this thing up. I'm finding 2 or 3 different recommendations on the web. It's a condenser mic, so I assume it needs power.
Has anyone used this mic successfully with a 7300?

    Mark,

I had one a couple years ago I used on my FT1000 Field. Wouldn't work direct. The mic required phantom power to work. Since I didn't want to get that involved, I gutted it and put a dynamic element in place of the original. Worked FB and looked real nice.

Try a Behringer XM8500 on the ICOM, great mic, even better price.

    I'll give that a try.
