    Hello Operators
Topics of the day are HFAPRS & weak signal messaging using MFSK4 found in APRS Messenger. APRS Messenger is developed by Chris Moulding G4HYG. APRS was developed by Bob Bruninga WB4APR. Although APRS and HFAPRS share many attributes, HFAPRS may become the standard utility mode for long distance, off-grid/grid-down, weak signal POS reporting and short messaging on HF.

HFAPRS activity is currently centered around the 30 meters band. Stations periodically send out beacons in one of several modes on 10.149.70. Stations also interact with one another by sending short messages to one or a group of stations. Like APRS on VHF, it's also possible to send an email via APRS to someone outside the network.

APRS Messenger utilizes multiple modes, for the various conditions we find on HF. Supported modes are: PSK63, PSK250, MFSK16, MFSK4, and GMSK250, which can simultaneously be received regardless of the current mode the operator has set. Each mode has its strengths, but the clever bit is giving the operator options, allowing him or her to adapt, using the best mode for their current operating environment and conditions. In this demonstration, two stations, M0IAX, and OH8STN, demonstrate MFSK4 for weak signal messaging, and POS reporting using HFAPRS in APRS Messenger.
