    To the effect of:

I hate to throw the guy under the bus, but maybe by bringing it out into the public it will help him clean up his act. 7khz wide for a station broadcasting with 2.6 khz of bandwidth isn't something I'd be proud of.

You are correct, sir. I worked KH6J (Koolau Amateur Radio Club) on 15m during CQ WW SSB (as W5MIL/HR9) this weekend from Roatan, Honduras. Also worked KH7M (Pu'u O'o Radio Club) and KH7XS (Big Island Contest Club) on 15m, as well.
Gotta hand it to these Hawaiian contest stations. All of them had 59+ signals and got my call right on the first try with my 63 ft., stealth, end fed antenna.

    Jeff,

We all know you guys moved to Texas because of the cultural advantage of having BUCK-EE'S within a few hours drive...

    No way, Chip.

Never even heard of Bucc-ee's until I looked it up on duckduckgo just now---and I've done a lot of road travel in and outside of Texas. I seldom patronize convenience stores unless I am in need of gas or a restroom/pit stop while on the road, either (Chevron is always my first choice in that department because of Techron).

There's a lot of really great things about Texas but I can't imagine convenience stores as even coming into consideration when asked about the Lone Star State.

Here's a few of the many places and things that I do like about Texas: CATrip 046RZ.jpg
"Letty's Jetty" Rockport, Texas (My xyl helping me scout portable operating positions; this one's a winner)

River Walk, San Antonio ... The Alamo (53 years after my 1st visit)

Old ham explores the historic Hill Country ... Old ham explores greyline propagation on the Gulf

Van Horn, Ft. Davis, Alpine 063.JPG
Mountain Scenery in the Trans Pecos (Near Allamore/Van Horn, Texas)

FredericksburgTrip 061QRZ.jpg East Meets West (Admiral Nimitz Peace Garden, Fredericksburg, Texas)

CATrip 1283COPY.jpg Typical South Texas Sunset Rockport/Fulton, Texas

The best thing I like about Texas? The people are friendly here!

(My apologies for the thread hijacking and use of bandwidth; we now return you to QRZ's regular programming:D)

Alway been (Texas)intrigued by the boots and the fringes. Turns out the fringes were used to drip off rain; the boots to kick the hell outta rattlers! Now the hat...well, SPF 300 before sunblock invented/horse water dish. Scarf to keep out the dust. Chaps to stop chafin'.

Get fully loaded with these to be real Texan:)

The HOWDY truck was actually a plumbing company truck---they probably had a pipe rack. Gun racks are for personal vehicles.:)

Here's HOW ( A way) to tell if its some (nonlinear) overload in your RX---

    1) take the spectrum and get the ratio of 'IMD' to main signal;
    2) introduce AT THE ANTENNA a 20 dB attenuator and do 1)
    3) introduce AT THE ANTENNA a 40 dB attenuator and do 1)

If the ratios in dB for 1) do NOT match the ratios taken from 2) and 3) , and 2) to 3) then its an RX overload issue, not a TX issue.
