Another long day for Brian, now in N'Djamena
Dakar to N'Djamena, Chad is 2,174 miles in just under 15 hours - avg speed = 144 mph !!
He should sleep well tonight !!
Tomorrow N'Djamena to Khartoum, Sudan only 1,194 miles (piece of cake after today !!)

Must be an expensive trip. Anyone know what kind of MPG such a plane gets?

Looks like he left N'Djamena for Khartoum somewhere around 11:20 UTC
No live radar tracking, just GPS: http://projectameliaearhart.org/tracker/map.php
Brian is now in Khartoum, Sudan
Next stop: Muscat, Oman : 13-Jun : 1 : OOMS
I was able to locate this info from Mooney:
The Mooney M20K, both the "231" and the later "252" model, are probably the most efficient production aircraft ever made. The Mooney is capable of over 20 miles-per-gallon (8.5 km/L or 11.75L per 100km).
Brian stated he was using about 7.7 gph
Tnx, some info from Google put it at about that number.
Not knowing what I am doing (normal) I come up with a trip gas cost of $6-10k.
