Here is the Amplifier Kit presentation:
I can't seem to find the price
It may indeed be super nice kit, but since the process of buying it requires you to go buddy-buddy with the seller....not for me. What is so frick'n hard about putting a price to their product?
The current pricing, as presented today at the Orlando Ham Fest, is $3.K w/o optional Tuner and
$3.35K W/Optional Tuner, Plus Shipping.
Pass! W6PQL pallet is cheaper and other control circuits can be bought from him! Can build an amp for around $1200 or so...
You need (2) W6PQL pallets to get to 2K output plus a combiner, plus power supply, plus chassis, fans, protection circuits, display, etc. It probably comes out pretty close in cost.
I can live with 1kw!
You may be satisfied with operating with one LDMOS device at 1Kw but the imd3 will be terrible.
Take a look at those amps currently out there that recommend either 1 or 1.2 KW Po Max, they are all using 2 LDMOS devices with lots of headroom which is a requirement for good imd3 performance.
Jim has the measurements on his site, it runs clean at 1kw http://www.w6pql.com/1_kw_sspa_for_1_8-54_mhz.htm
I don't see any IMD measurements
